Recently when I went to Salem, my MIL gave me few bitter gourds that was grown in our backyard. Usually I make bitter gourd pitlai, poriyal or crispy bitter gourd chips. - Wash and soak the mung dal
- Heat oil and temper celery seed and dry chilli
- Add gourd slices and fry
- Add salt and turmeric powder and cover to let it soft
- Now add dal and water and simmer till the veggies and dal is soft
- Add sugar and mix well and switch off
- Your dal is ready
