The ingredients needed to make Jaggery Rice:
  1. Take 3 cups Cooked rice
  2. Prepare 4 Cloves
  3. Get 2 Cardamoms
  4. Prepare 1 1/2 tbsp Ghee
  5. Take 3/4 cup Jaggery
  6. Prepare 1" Cinnamon stick
  7. Get 1/2 tsp Caraway Seeds
  8. Prepare 2-3 tbsp Almonds slivered
  9. Make ready 4 tbsp Water
  10. Prepare 1/8 tsp Nutmeg powder
  11. Take 1 pinch Dry Food Colour (optional)
Steps to make Jaggery Rice:
  1. In a pan, add ghee and melt the jaggery with little water. Add cloves, nutmeg and cardamom as it thickens.
  2. Add almond slivers and the cooked rice now, mix well and leave it to cook for 2 to 3 mins. Add little food colour powder used in biryanis if desired dissloved in a tablespoon of milk just to give it a lovely look. Serve it hot or chilled as desired.
  3. When you cook rice, add cinnamon and caraway seeds to the water. It gives a nice aroma and flavour to the rice.
